these are a few of the photos taken when we visted the latch ward in heath hospital it was a very humbling day and emotional as well we have knitted and crochet all year to deliver the toys to the children and also bought them books as well to go with their toys the smile on their faces said it all
The children on Sky Ward were recently treated to handmade teddies, monkeys and hippo’s to name but a few that members of Creative Crafts have knitted over the past 12 months.
All the toys are made by volunteers of the Group who meet up every fortnight at Chapter Arts Centre in Cardiff. The Group started 18 months ago and now has 119 members. The aim of Creative Crafts is to get a group together who enjoy crafting and are able to socialise at the same time as sharing their knowledge and experience. The Group made enough toys so that children on other wards in the hospital could also receive a gift.
We would like to thank June and her team of volunteers who distributed the toys to the children. this is from the manager of latch.
